Have you ever heard of petrified wood?

As wood lovers and mother earth ambasadors we thought to share a little more on the magnficence of wood and it’s healing properties, taking it further by looking at how wood changes from its natural form into an actual quartz by keeping it underground for decades.
To explain petrified wood we need to look at its origin. The word itself is rooted from Greek which means rock or ‘wood turned into stone’. It’s basically the name given to the fossilized remains of terrestrial vegetation.

This is where all the organic materials of the tree have been replaced with silicate minerals, usually a quartz, while maintaining the wood’s original structure.

Unlike other kinds of fossils that are compressions or impressions, Petrified Wood is a three-dimensional representation of the original organic material.

The petrifaction process happens underground, when wood starts to get covered by sediments. It’s preserved at first due to lack of oxygen.

Mineral-rich waters which flow through the sediments deposit minerals in the tree’s cells. As the tree’s lignin and cellulose start to decay, a stone mold also begins to form.

Since we are both also inspired by the unseen we would like to share with you the healing properties found when wearing this incredible quartz.

Firstly, connect with Petrified Wood if you want to establish deep roots.

Secondly, when you carry or wear this amazing fossil it is said that you will be more grounded and find more stability within your life routine, even when you’re filled with fear, panic, or anxiety.

Even when wood is buried deep underground its properties still gives us everlasting meaning and guidance!

Please leave your comments below as we would love to hear from you.

Love and Light,
Bianca & Tim
